Festival season is here and the shops are awash with all of the style essentials you need to pack, along with your disposable BBQ and wet wipes.
We’ve already discussed our love of the bum bag for the festival circuit, and here we’ve rounded up the rest of the style essentials you’re going to need to
Glastonbury has already been, then from there on out our weekends will be spent in fields trying to look as chic and boho as possible, whilst keeping warm in the night and staying dry in the rain.
These are the style essentials any and every festival fashion wardrobe needs.
Festival style essentials
Quite the obvious item, but a must have none the less. Wellies are a festival wardrobe staple; wet weather in the middle of a field is only going to result in mud splashed up your legs and everywhere else.
Of course Hunters are the stylish designer option, but the high street has plenty of trendy styles with different prints and colours as well as different leg lengths too. The ankle-style boots are ideal if you are promised sun as you can still get your legs out and embrace the festival style too.
Shorts are must-haves for any festivals; you’ll see everyone wearing them and for good reason too. Denim shorts are hard to crease so you can definitely squeeze them into your bag with little worry about needing an iron. What’s great about them too, you can wear different tops/jackets or accessories with them to create entirely different looks too.
Kate Moss has ensured that shorts are a style staple for every festival over the years, and we’ll be taking fashion inspiration from her for our look this year.
Whether you choose denim, pep up your outfit with printed styles or choose the stylish hybrid, the skort, shorts should definitely be part of your festival wardrobe this year.
Another essential item for festivals is playsuits. They’re easy to throw on, look instantly stylish and are perfect if you want to get on the shoulders of your friends. Everyone needs to keep their modesty covered.
Hats and headpieces
Fingers crossed the sun will be cracking the flags when you head to your festival this summer, and you’ll need a hat to complete your look and keep the sun out of your eyes. Reality is, it’s been raining all weekend and you’re going to need a hat to cover up your bad hair day. Either way it’s important you pack a hat.
If hats really aren’t your thing, a nice head piece or headband will help cover up your three-day old hair.
As we all know the Great British weather is somewhat unpredictable, and having a pretty raincoat in your wardrobe is definitely needed. If you’re heading to a festival it’s almost guaranteed you’re going to need one of these beauties, and with everything from clear vinyl, floral prints and bold colours, there is definitely something for every taste.
If you wait till you get there you’ll end up paying over the odds and it won’t be able to stand more than a shower of rain. Waterproof jackets can still be stylish with pretty prints and colours available all over the high street.
Body chains, arm cuffs and face stickers are all of the finishing touches you’ll want to add to your festival look. They may not seem essential, but you’ll be happy you took them.
