Returning TV premieres not to miss in November

After revealing all the new TV shows not to miss in November, here’s a list of the returning TV shows you don’t want to miss either.

The Librarians

Season 2 November 2 at 8pm Syfy UK

The series based on the film trilogy sees Rebecca Romijn star as one of a group of people charged with investing mysterious goings-on.


Season 5 November 2 at 9pm Sky 1

Sky’s popular supermarket sitcom returns for a new series. English actress Sarah Parish will make her debut in a lead role. The “Peak Practice” actress will play the role of a notorious Store manager named Cheryl Fairweather.

Broad City

Season 2 November 2 at 11pm Comedy Central

Two girls in their twenties medicate their way through life in New York. The comedy, which began its life as a web series, stars Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer. In the opening episode of the show’s ten episode second season, titled In Heat, Abbi and Ilana try to survive the sultry, sweaty days of New York City, hunt down an air conditioner, and find a last minute birthday gift for Lincoln. Seth Rogen (Steve JobsThe Interview) and Kumail Nanjiani (Franklin & BashSilicon ValleyThe X-Files) guest star in the season premiere.


Season 5 November 3 at 9pm Watch

Created by Stephen Carpenter, David Greenwalt & Jim Kouf, Grimm follows Portland Homicide Detective Nick Burkhardt who, after discovering that he is descended from an elite line of criminal profilers known as ‘Grimms’, finds his responsibilities as a detective at odds with his new responsibilities as a Grimm. The fifth series is premiering just days after the US.


Season 2 November 4 at 9pm FOX UK

From Homeland‘s Gideon Raff & Howard Gordon, Tyrant tells the story of Bassam “Barry” Al Fayeed, the younger son of the dictator of a war-torn nation, who ends a self-imposed 20-year exile to return to his homeland, accompanied by his American wife and children, for his nephew’s wedding. Barry’s reluctant homecoming leads to a dramatic clash of cultures as he is thrown back into the familial and national politics of his youth. The show’s twelve episode second season picks up from the events depicted in the season one finale, in which Barry colluded with members of the U.S. government in a failed attempt to overthrowing his brother Jamal’s tyrannical reign and was arrested on charges of treason. Having been betrayed by the West, Jamal now sets his sights on the East, developing an alliance with China that he hopes will make Abbudin a global power. But Barry continues to be a thorn in Jamal’s side, becoming a symbol of freedom for the increasingly vocal insurgency.

Nurse Jackie

Season 7 November 4 at 10.10pm Sky Atlanic

One of our favourite TV shows about drugs, Emmy-winner Edie Falco returns as a drug-addicted nurse in the dark comedy.

The Simpsons

Season 27 November 8 at 6.30pm Sky 1

The show is still going strong in its 27th season. Some guest stars for this season include Blake Anderson, Kristen Bell, David Copperfield, Lena Dunham, Kelsey Grammer, Nick Kroll, Yo-Yo Ma, and Edward James Olmos. Carl Zealer, who won a competition to be animated into The Simpsons, will be in this season in episode “Halloween of Horror”.

Live at the Apollo

Season 11 November 9 at 10pm BBC Two

The popular stand-up showcase will be broadcast on BBC Two for the first time. Guest hosts include Alan Carr, Dara O Briain, Noel Fielding, Romesh Ranganathan, Katherine Ryan and Russel Kane.

Peep Show

Season 9 November 11 at 10pm Channel 4

The ninth series of Peep Show is going to be the last, the sitcom will pick up some time after last series, which ended with Mark and Jeremy abandoned by Dobby (Isy Suttie), despite both declaring their love for her.


Season 2 November 12 at 9pm ITV 2

From Nick Santora and Nicholas Wootton, Scorpion revolves around Walter, an eccentric genius and his international network of super-geniuses who form the last line of defense against the complex threats of the modern age. In the opening episode of the show’s second season, titled Satellite Of Love, the new Director of Homeland Security reunites the team when a nuclear powered Russian satellite is knocked out of orbit and must be diverted before it detonates over Southern California. Also, Paige and Walter must face their feelings for each other after hospital footage reveals Paige kissed him.

Series 15 November 15 at 9pm ITV

Series based on the Walt Longmire books where the titular character, a small town sheriff, is investigating serious crimes, returning to work following his wife’s death, and battling his deputy for re-election to the job. Cancelled by its US network, but saved by Netflix for a 5th season.


Season 4 November 17 at 10pm Syfy UK

Created by Simon Barry, Continuum follows Kiera Cameron, a cop from the future who finds herself trapped in the present day after a group of fanatical terrorists escapes their planned execution by vaulting back in time to 2012, inadvertently sweeping Kiera along the way. In the show’s final season, Kiera Cameron and the mysterious time traveler, Brad Tonkin (Ryan Robbins) must battle the Future Soldiers who arrived in a flash of light in the last moments of season three. Meanwhile, Kiera’s alliance with the remaining members of Liber8 challenges her relationship with both Carlos and Alec Sadler. Kiera must also face off against Kellog, who is using every option available to him to become the ruler of a dark future built in his image. Ultimately Kiera is put to the test when the dream of potentially reuniting with her family is reignited.


Season 4 November 19 at 9pm Sky Living

Jonny Lee Miller stars as the elusive Sherlock series which is set in New York. In the season 3 finale, Sherlock snaps, relapses into his addictions and assaults his roommate Oscar. He also learns that his estranged father is coming to New York.

The season 4 premiere episode will find Holmes attempting to rebuild his life in the wake of his attack on Oscar and subsequent relapse. Sherlock’s partnership with Dr Joan Watson (Lucy Liu) and their consultancy with the NYPD are in jeopardy because of his violent actions. John Noble will guest star as Holmes’s wealthy, estranged father in Elementary season 4.

Hot in Cleveland

Season 6 November 25 at 9.30pm Sony Entertainment Television

Hot In Cleveland revolves around three best friends from the LA entertainment industry whose lives are changed forever when their plane, which was headed for Paris, unexpectedly lands in Cleveland. Finding themselves in this new promised land and loving their new home, the women find themselves living under one roof and battling the sassy caretaker of the property they have rented. The show’s sixth and final season picks up from the season five finale with Joy choosing one of her potential suitors, while Elka continues her City Council career and makes her first power play. Meanwhile, Victoria is enjoying life after winning an Oscar and lands a prestigious cable drama. Plus, life isn’t so terrible for Melanie either as she continues working on her radio show and meets a prospective boyfriend.
