Zayn Malik returned to the red carpet this weekend, with a new hairdo and plenty of praise to be heaped on the One Direction boys.
The singer attended the fifth annual Asian Awards, where he was presented with his first-ever independent award.
Malik walked the red carpet with this mother and Naughty Boy presented him with his award for an Outstanding Contribution to Music, and he, of course, paid tribute to the other One Direction lads.
When he accepted the award he thanked his mum and dad, and paid tribute to the best four guys he'd ever met. He said everything he did with them will be part of his life forever.
Bollywood icon, Shah Rukh Khan won the Outstanding Contribution to Cinema award, while co-founder of China’s largest e-commerce business, Alibaba Group, Jack Ma, won the Entrepreneur of the Year award.
Shah Rukh Khan said he was honoured and humbled to receive the award. He explains that he shares the award with the South East Asians who live abroad and have made Indian cinema and himself known around the world.
He continued to say that he's proud of the talent that originates from Asia, and he's glad to be part of the celebration of them.
Paul Sagoo, who launced the awards in 2010, said he's amazed by the success of the awards, particularly the support they've received this year. He says they've grown into a voice for the Pan Asian community to celebrate their own success, as well as a way to inspire millions of people to be the best people they can.
