Kanye West rapped about the importance of getting a prenup in place on the song Gold Digger, and despite the fact that they have millions and millions in the bank some celebrities aren’t willing to put a price on their love, whilst others will do everything they can to protect their fortune.

These are some of the most surprising and shocking celebrity prenups that are in place, and some that aren’t or never were.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie

In their prenuptial agreement it was decided that if Brad ever cheated on Ang, she would get primary custody of all six of their children. Not surprising when you consider how the pair first got together.

Beyonce and Jay Z

This is definitely a costly clause for Jay Z, he will have to pay $5 million for each of their children they have, as well as $1 million for every year they’re married, only up until 15 years though. So far, he will have to pay her $25 million.

Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman

If the couple were ever to divorce, they would share joint custody of their children. Keith is also entitled to $600,000 a year for every year the couple are married. One of the big clauses though, Keith won’t get a penny if he ever uses illegal drugs again.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West

The pair does have a prenuptial agreement, but there isn’t a clause in their about their children. Instead, it indicates that Kim will receive $1 million for every year they’re married, up to 10 years. She will also get to keep any jewellery and gifts that are given to her from Kanye.

Finally, and quite surprisingly, the money that Kim earns from the TV show and her fashion lines are solely her property.

Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren

We were definitely shocked when the Tiger Woods cheating scandals surfaced, what you might be surprised to learn is that he tried to persuade his wife to stay with him for two more years, with the plan to give her $55 million more. But Elin rejected the offer and still managed to get $100 million from the divorce.

Russell Brand and Katy Perry

Russell and Katy didn’t actually get a prenup before they walked down the aisle, and they decided to split their assets when they divorced. Russell waived his claim to half of Katy’s £44 million fortune, which makes the fact that they couldn’t work things out all the sadder.

Madonna and Guy Ritchie

While Madonna is worth a suspected $500 million, Ritchie could have been entitled to half as the pair didn’t have a prenup, but Ritchie is said to have only received between $76 and $92 million in the divorce.

Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey

They didn’t have a prenup when they married, so during the divorce, Jessica offered him $1.5 million, which he rejected. It’s said that he took half of her income when they were married, which is estimated to have stood at around $36 million.

Ellen Degeneres and Portia de Rossi

Ellen is worth around $63 million, but these two don’t have a prenup in place, Ellen thinks they’re unromantic. And we’d be quite surprised if these two ever went down the divorce route.

Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel

Justin and Jessica’s prenup is said to have an infidelity clause which will cost him $500,000. There were rumours that Justin was unfaithful to Biel whilst they were dating.

Chris Rock

In a weird twist of fate, Chris Rock’s marriage came to an end after 20 years. But the prenup they signed had expired after 18 years.

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck

Although the original Bennifer might not have made it down the aisle, it’s said to be down to the cheating clause in the prenup that Ben wasn’t willing to sign. It stated that Jennifer would be entitled to half of what he earned if he cheated.

There’s also rumours that he wanted it to be in the prenup that they would have sex four times a week.

Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise

These two did have a prenup in place and it meant that Katie walked away with $15 million, $3 million for every year they were married. Each year she also gets $400,000 in child support for their daughter Suri.

Crystal Harris and Hugh Hefner

There was an iron-clad prenup in place when Crystal and Hugh married. It stated that she wasn’t entitled to anything if they ever divorced, and apparently, she received nothing when he passed away because she was never added to his will.

Steven Spielberg and Amy Irving

Amy Irving still managed to walk away with $100 million when she divorced Spielberg, despite the fact that they had a prenup in place. But the judge decided it wasn’t valid because the pair had written it on a napkin.

Mark Zuckerberg

There was always going to be a prenup in place when Mark Zuckerberg married Priscilla Chan because there was a prenup in place when they were dating. It’s said to have included a once-a-week date, as well as alone time scheduled in which can’t be at his apartment or the Facebook headquarters.

Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo

These two never married and it’s probably because one of the clauses in the prenup, Tony stated that if Jessica weighed more than 135 pounds he would get $500,000. Not exactly in line with traditional wedding vows now, is it?

Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas

If the pair ever divorce, Jones is entitled to $2.8 million, and if he ever cheats she’ll get a further $5 million.

Elizabeth Taylor and Larry Fortensky

For her seventh husband, Taylor had a prenup in place that stated if their pair were together for five years he’d get $1 million in the divorce, or even if they stayed together. The pair divorced after five years, which saw him get the money, and when she passed she left him $800,000 in her will.

Ice-T and Coco

Definitely one of the more ludicrous prenups on this list, but then we wouldn’t expect anything else from these two. It’s said that if the pair ever divorce, Ice could end keeping Coco’s breast and butt implants. We’re not entirely sure how this would work, and hopefully, we’ll never have to find out.

Rosanne Barr and Tom Arnold

Rosanne and Tom didn’t actually sign a prenup before they married and after just four years they were getting divorced and Rosanne had to give him $50 million. Speaking about it at a later date, she stated that the pair never signed a prenup, but a mutual suicide pact instead.

Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen

Richards has Sheen sign a prenup which would see her get $4 million if Charlie cheated on her, despite the fact he’s not a big fan of them, he thinks they’re poison on a marriage.

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline

Britney put a 60-page long prenup in place before she married Federline that stated he would only get $1 million if they divorced. There was also a clause that stated any gift over $7,000 would come with a legal document about who would own it if they got divorced.

Mel Gibson and Robyn Denise Moore Gibson

After 25 years their marriage came to an end, and they didn’t have a prenup in place. This meant that Robyn was entitled to half of Mel’s fortune which was estimated to be $900 million.

Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller

Their vows might have had a light-hearted tone that stared Sheen would clean his closet once a decade and mute the ball game every now and then, but the prenup was definitely a lot more calculated.

It stated Brooke would get an annual allowance of $300,000, she would get $500,000 within 180 days of the wedding too. Not only that she would have a stake in Sheen’s mansion, and this share would increase in correspondence to the length of the marriage. It also stated that Sheen must cover all of their living expenses.

When they divorced Mueller also got $100,000 for having to relocate.

Paul McCartney and Heather Mills

Another couple who believed their love would last and didn’t sign a prenup, this meant that Heather walked away with $33 million, child support totalling $70,000 a year, as well as assets that totalled around $15 million.
