Elizabeth Olsen’s sisters may be more well-known, for now at least, thanks to their careers beginning at 9 months old. But Elizabeth has proven time and time again that she certainly has the sartorial side down, despite the fact that Mary-Kate and Ashley run a number of successful fashion lines.
However, the twins often look a little more on the shabby side of chic, whether they’re hitting the red carpet or spotted around New York.
Elizabeth however keeps it flawless at all times in her fuss-free style that brings a breath of fresh air to the red carpet.
This week sees the release of Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Elizabeth takes on a new character in the hugely successful Marvel franchise, read all about the new Avengers characters now.
In honour of the new release and Elizabeth’s impeccable style choices we’ve compiled a collection of the 14 times the beauty proved she was more stylish than her sisters.
This week she chose a Saint Laurent dress for the Avengers: Age of Ultron European premiere, the actress amped up her look for the night wearing the standout uber cool cape dress from the Spring 2015 collection.
We love Elizabeth for stepping out of her comfort-zone in this dramatic LBD, which balances a high, richly embellished neckline with a thigh-skimming cut, having her hair pulled back was the perfect balance for the voluminous look.
Attending a beauty event in California, the actress chose a gorgeous fresh look from Rosetta Getty, the monochrome dress was a breath of fresh air. She added a Chloe jacket and a playful Olympia Le-Tan ‘Lord of the Flies’ book clutch, the Jennifer Fisher chocker completes this look perfectly - showing that's she's on trend with the latest jewellery must-haves.
The modern minimalist look at the LA premiere for Avengers: Age of Ultron proved that a t-shirt dress can be given a glamorous twist that’s perfect for a special event. The Galvan white t-shirt and midnight blue wrap skirt was simply beautiful thanks to the clean lines. We love the tousled bob too. We shared how you can get this look, and more from the same premiere, on the high street.
Earlier this year she was on the star-studded front row for the Tom Ford Fall 2015 collection show, of course wearing Tom Ford. The Pre-Fall 2015 black gown with slashed detail was something a little different for Elizabeth; she doesn't usually go down the sexy route but it works for her in this cool, laidback manner.
Proving where her style heart lies, she chose an incredibly simple Chloe dress for the Godzilla premiere. Whilst most scoffed at this look, she proved that she is a thing of beauty whether she's wearing Couture or something on the simple style.
We loved her however in this Chanel Couture gown at the BAFTA Awards in London; the actress wore a black-and-white romantic Chanel Fall 2011 Couture gown with tiered ruffles. The blooming print updated the gown’s classic silhouette with a dose of artistic flair that lent a sweet feminine appeal to Olsen’s swoon-worthy ensemble. Simple black accessories and fuss-free waves worn over one shoulder completed this gorgeous look.
You'd be forgiven for thinking that this is a designer look, but she's a lady after our own hearts and even wears the high street too. Here she's paired an ASOS leather high-waisted skirt with a simple black cami top and a white blazer from Topshop; this outfit proves that chic separates can create a designer-led look.
The Christian Dior Pre-Fall 2012 gown she wore to the Vanity Fair Oscar Party was anything but boring thanks to the leather inserts and chiffon tiers. Black is a go-to on the red carpet, and whilst Jennifer Aniston may bore us with her choices, Elizabeth proves that they don't have to be a snore-fest.
A vision in white wearing Antonio Berardi to the Independent Spirit Awards in 2012. Her minimalist style was given some added sparkle with her white sheath dress with floral crystal overlay, and the perfect off set for the added sparkle in her accessories. A gorgeous look from top to toe.
The Proenza Schouler Spring 2012 black front tie long sleeve dress with a contrasting floral printed skirt is a bold choice from the usually cautious star, but she carries it off effortlessly. She kept the styling simple with black pumps and we love that side ponytail, hair inspiration at its best.
Proving that she can wear colour we love this Emilio Pucci Spring 2012 long-sleeved mini-dress with cream lace trim. She matched the dress with simple nude Pucci sandals, but the bright shade works perfectly for her. Who knows when she'll wear something as bright and bold again.
Back in 2011 her style was a lot softer and this Chanel Spring 2012 Couture dress was the perfect embodiment of this. The chic soft pink beaded top paired with a matching soft pink tiered tulle skirt was an adorable, lady-like look for the young actress. Soft curls completed the look.
The actress worked a relaxed cool, combo of a T by Alexander Wang oversized white shirt with a rust mini skirt and her bold Marni-esqe statement necklace really amped up the styling of the look. An oufit we'd definitely wear.
Finally, a gorgeous look from Cannes. Wearing her sisters' line The Row, we love this embroidered white dress. It's perfect for the bohemian summer style that's going to be everywhere this season and simpe black sandals round out the look.
