Abbey Clancy is back influencing our summer wardrobes with another of her Matalan Picks collections.
The affordable collection has been personally curated by the stylish model and is here just in time for summer. Whether summer actually makes an appearance is another matter.
The collection of summer-perfect pieces features wardrobe essentials and must-have summer trends including cold-shoulder details, rainbow brights, slip dresses and graphic stripes.
These pieces are ideal to be dressed up or down, and styled together to create both casual and occasion wear looks, offering something for all ages.
In an interview with Look magazine, Abbey said her mum and sister both have a list of things they want from the collection. Her sister is 19 and her mum in her sixties, which proves there is definitely something for everyone.
Abbey’s favourite look from the collection a laid back look that can be worn in the day with trainers, or add heels for the night, it's made up of wide leg pants and a bomber jacket.
The perfect piece for a date night has to be the little red cami dress though, Abbey suggests adding a pair of strappy sandal heels or wedges.
When it comes to off-duty dressing though, Abbey’s a lady after our own hearts and prefers jeans a t-shirt, she says they're easy to wear, and you can dress them up or down. Perfect if your plans change.
Since becoming a mum Abbey says her style has changed, so she likes to make an effort during the day as well as in the evening. When she was picking the collection colour was a main objective as the weather gets a little warmer, with comfort and style at the forefront as well.
Favourite fashion pieces
Abbey will always a choose a bikini over a swimsuit. A smart suit over a dress and a smokey eye over a bold lip.
If you’re looking for holiday inspiration from Britain’s Next Top Model host, she says always invest in good bikinis and a good hat because they can make an outfit look so much classier.
Style inspiration
Her ultimate fashion icon is either Brigitte Bardot or Rosie Huntington-Whiteley as they both look clean cut but also quite feminine.
And when it comes to her own style it's all about being classic and chic. She admits she tends to steer clear of colour and has a wardrobe that's mostly monochrome.
Bikini preparation
When it comes to getting ready to flaunt her own body when she hits the beach, Abbey says it’s important to exfoliate your body before you go. Her favourite is Jan Marini.
She says it's important that your swimwear is a good cut for your body type and gives you plenty of support where you need it too.
