Etude House
The South Korean cosmetics brand is owned by Amore Pacific. The brand name 'Etude' comes from Frederic Chopin's studies of the piano. Etude simply means study in French, and on their site they write “Etude means ‘beautiful study of Chopin’ in French.
As the first makeup brand in Korea, established in 1966, Etude has a philosophy to enjoy makeup rather than consider it as a repetitive and boring daily routine. By 2006 they had opened their 100th brand store and their 200th in 2009.
