The L’Oreal Infallible Matte Max Lip Pens are a unique formula that’s highly pigmented with a matte finish, it’s a new type of lip colour, but we’re a big fan of it.
L’Oreal Paris dub the pen as a designer product, which has been created to allow you to apply different lip looks with just one tool. The pen is designed to ensure you can create a matte bold colour, as well as gradient lips or an ombre look.
The formula is created with micro-oils too, and these ensure the product has a velvety soft feel on the lips.

The formula of the product is quite dry but surprisingly feels comfortable to wear on the lips. With one swipe the colour applies like a stain and then you can build up to the kind of intensity you want. The formula layers well so you can make the colour really intense.

What I really like about L’Oreal Infallible Matte Max Lip Pens is that they layer extremely well over lip balm without changing the matte finish. Also, the sponge applicator serves to really work the product into the lips for a long-lasting result.
Sadly the packaging does get a little grubby once you’ve been using it a while, similar to Nars products.
Pros
Comfortable to wear, moisturising, long-lasting, easy to blend, handy applicator
Cons
Takes a couple of layers for a strong lip, packaging gets quite grubby
Bottom Line
The L'Oreal Paris Infallible Matte Max lipsticks are easy to use, last really well and have a great colour pay off with a few layers of product. There’s a great selection of shades, with something to suit most tastes.
The colour pay off is buildable, which makes them great for creating an ember or gradient lip effect and the sponge applicator really assists with that application method.
They wear away evenly and the scent is slightly fruity without being overwhelming.
Even though it’s a gel-to-powder product it doesn’t feel like you’re rubbing loose pigment on your lips, in fact, it’s quite creamy and moisturising too. The lipstick applies like a dream to the lips, feeling lightweight with a velvety texture. It’s an extremely wearable flat matte finish too.
