The Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation had the beauty blogging world divided in opinion when it was first released, but we have to say that we’re firmly in the camp of loving this brightening, radiance-giving foundation, and here’s why.
The liquid foundation almost mimics a gel consistency and can only be described as fresh when it’s applied to the skin, it gives the appearance of a poreless face, completely even in pigmentation and finely glowing. Even under the eyes, this works well, never looking heavy, just enough coverage.
The natural finish means this in the middle of a light-to-medium coverage, but it’s easily buildable and doesn’t cake.
It has a subtle fruity scent that’s not particularly overpowering, but might but some people off. It does cling to dry patches slightly, but not enough that you have to avoid it if you have dry skin, just make sure you moisturise well before using it.
Once the Wake Me Up Foundation is blended in, which is a dream to apply, skin looks radiant and glowing thanks to the radiance pearls within the foundation, which really help give life to dull complexions.
The shimmer is rather deceptive, and has been the cause of debate amongst beauty bloggers but as far as our experience goes; it looks glitterball-esque in the bottle, doesn't show up at all in natural light, but is noticeable on the skin under strong artificial light.
The Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation is packaged within a tall, narrow, glass bottle with neon orange lid and pump. The pump is great and has a lot of control so you can dispense as much or as little as you wish.

Pros
Easy to blend, gives radiant glow, brightening, smooth texture, flawless natural finish
Cons
Limited shade range, slight scent that might put some people off
Bottom Line
The Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation is a rather fabulous foundation when you consider the price, £8.99, it has an SPF15, is regularly on offer in Boots and gives a flawless, radiant finish that lasts well and gives a lot of high-end foundation competitors a run for their money. The shade range is only small, but if you manage to match up your skin tone we can’t recommend this foundation enough.

Alongside the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation is the matching concealer that works in the same way; the concealer has an anti-fatigue effect with an illuminating radiant glow – exactly what you need from an under-eye concealer.
Rimmel’s first full coverage concealer visibly reawakens and illuminates under the eyes. What makes this different from the foundation is the lack of shimmer in the product, but it still does create a beautiful illuminating effect thanks to the peptides and vitamin moisturising complex.
Pros
Radiant effect, good coverage, blends well, doesn’t crease or cake, great price
Cons
Not great for concealing spots and blemishes, so you’ll need something different for that
The Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer is a beautiful fluid and creamy formula so it blends extremely well underneath the eyes, plus it’s buildable without being cakey and doesn’t crease throughout the day either.
There are four shades available, and as this isn’t a great concealer for concealing spots and blemishes, it should be enough choice to get a shade for underneath your eye area.
The Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer is our go-to for under-eye concealing, it has an incredible price point, which means you can pick up another concealer for spots and blemishes, is incredibly illuminating, it’s fluid and creamy and more importantly, it doesn’t crease throughout the day.
