The Golden Globes take place this weekend and as the A List spend hours upon hours prepping for the red carpet moment, we take a look at the best that have come previously.
Below we’ve rounded up some of our favourite red carpet moments that have taken place at the Golden Globe Awards in previous years, with the likes of Mila Kunis, Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Lopez making the cut.
Table of Contents
Felicity Jones wearing Christian Dior Couture
Felicity Jones was the picture of elegance at last year's Golden Globes (this picture is from an after party). She exuded her sophisticated, ladylike style perfectly in a Christian Dior Couture ball gown that was nothing short of head-turning.
Not only the hue of this dress was significant, so too was its architecturally prim silhouette, which only need be accessorized by vintage-inspired Van Cleef & Arpels earrings.
Kate Hudson wearing Atelier Versace
Kate Hudson always manages to stay on the right side of sexy when wearing Atelier Versace, Jennifer Lopez, Heidi Klum and Irina Shayk take note, and this sultry number was no different.
There were plunging elements of the dress, but the addition of the sparkling gems, the angelic hue of the gown and the simple bun at the nape of the neck all ensure that this is a memorable look for all the right reasons.
Allison Williams wearing Armani Prive
Allison made a dramatic entrance in her feminine, embellished Armani Privé gown. The delicate beading and exquisite ruffles are undeniably jaw-dropping, even though we think the hair was a little too twee for this look. The dress is definitely one to remember though, don't you think?
Lupita Nyong’o wearing Ralph Lauren
Lupita who managed to steal the show at many award shows in 2014, but it was her red Ralph Lauren gown that still gives us goose bumps now. The colour was divine and the cape detail was just the dramatics you need for such a big red carpet event. Flawless.
Kate Hudson wearing Alexander McQueen
We don’t have a picture of Kate at the awards show, even though she was there, but here she’s pictured at the Weinstein Post Golden Globe Party. The black and gold dress was immaculate and her glossy locks were the perfect addition to the look.
Jessica Alba wearing Gucci
This lilac, embellished gown perfectly showed off Jessica’s toned frame – who doesn’t want shoulders like that?!
Charlize Theron wearing Dior
This pale pink gown was truly a show-stopping moment from the actress. It had drama with the train, a hint of sexiness with the split and plunging neckline and the embellished headband and brooch on the waistline added the perfect glitzy touch.
Angleina Jolie wearing Atelier Versace
This cream dress with red accents from Atelier Versace was Old Hollywood at its best, the red lips complimented the look perfectly.
Kate Winslet wearing Jenny Packham
This look was understated elegance, something we’ve come to expect from Kate. She looked flawless.
Nicole Kidman wearing Versace
This gown creates beautiful curves on the actress, and the studded detail adds a tough edge to the pastel gown.
Angelina Jolie wearing Atelier Versace
Another show-stopping moment from Angelina; we couldn’t decide between the two looks from the Golden Globes and decided that they both deserve their place on this list.
Catherine Zeta Jones wearing Monique Lhuillier
This look tore people, but we think she looks beautiful. It was bold, but it certainly paid off. The colour is absolutely heavenly.
Emma Stone wearing Calvin Klein
On the opposite end of the scale to Catherine, sat Emma Stone in a simple column dress from Calvin Klien; this look just worked though and Emma looked gorgeous. We think it’s because she has such a personality when it comes to wearing clothes.
Jennifer Lopez wearing Zuhair Murad
Another look that tore people’s opinions, but Jennifer was radiant in this Zuhair Murad look. It had hints of sexiness, but nothing too much which was a refreshing change from the singer at the time.
Mila Kunis wearing Vera Wang
Throughout her promo tour for Black Swan and the awards season in 2011 Mila presented us with beautiful look after look, and this Vera Wang number was definitely one of her most memorable. She looked flawless in the fishtail gown, a look which has since proved a huge trend on the red carpet.
Megan Fox wearing Armani Prive
Megan stunned in this gorgeous pale pink gown, it was sweet and sexy and she completely nailed the look.
Eva Mendes wearing Dior
A gorgeous gown was made even better with a selection of Van Cleef & Arpels jewellery, we can’t remember a time when she looked better.
Beyonce wearing Elie Saab
Elie Saab has now become the go-to designer for red carpet standout gowns, but it was way back in 2007 when Beyonce wore this show-stopping number. Her curves helped her carry off this dress perfectly.
Sienna Miller wearing Marchesa
One of our favourite ever looks from Sienna Miller. It was Grecian Goddess perfection. The halo braid, the drop waist Marchesa gown and the glowing, natural skin. Faultless.
And the worst red carpet moment of the Golden Globes... EVER
We couldn’t do a round-up of the Golden Globes without mention Lara Flynn Boyle’s disastrous ballerina-inspired look in 2003. She turned up to the 60th Golden Globes in a look designed by David Cardona and if her skeletal frame wasn’t shocking enough, she looked as though she’s stepped off a school’s production of Swan Lake. It was sickly and something we bet she regrets every year as the Golden Globes roll around.
