Rimmel London might be a drugstore beauty brand, but time and time again they create beautiful cosmetics that have become a staple in our beauty kits, and that’s including their range of foundation choices. Here’s our roundup of Rimmel Foundations, and we pick out the best one.
Table of Contents
Rimmel Fresher Skin Foundation
Natural and lightweight, this foundation lives up to its name of leaving you with fresher skin. It's lightweight to wear, doesn't clog your pores and gives a beautiful natural finish to the complexion. The Rimmel Fresher Skin foundation wears beautifully throughout the day, lasting really well. The downside to this product is the packaging, it comes in a screw-top glass tub, which can get a little messy. Plus you're likely to be putting your fingers or brush into the tub to get the product out, which isn't as hygienic as we'd like.
Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation
Long lasting and hard wearing, the Rimmel Lasting Finish foundation is an excellent budget foundation buy. It offers medium-high coverage and actually does last all day. Rimmel call it their 25-hour foundation, but we don’t imagine many people will be will to put that to the test.
The foundation doesn’t look cakey or heavy on the skin, it blends easily and wears well throughout the day, those will oilier skin types might need a powder touch-up through the day however.
But the only big downside to this foundation is the limited shade range, but if you can find a match or near-match to your skin tone, this makes a great budget-friendly foundation option.
Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation
The Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation is designed with Smart-Tone formula, which allows the liquid foundation to provide trackless coverage. This ensures that the finish looks natural under any light, whether you’re in the office or in a bar at the weekend. The shade range is quite good too for a drugstore foundation.
This foundation gives the skin a dewy look that’s shimmer free. It has a medium-buildable coverage that is comfortable to wear and looks gorgeous through the day. It doesn’t last as long as the Long Lasting foundation from the brand, but it is a gorgeous, natural-looking foundation.
Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation
Another standout foundation from the Rimmel brand is the Wake Me Up foundation, leaving you with beautifully radiant skin. It helps to wake up dull and tired skin, as it has an illuminating effect in the formula. Some however, might find that the shimmering effect might exaggerate fine lines and wrinkles.
The foundation shade range isn’t great admittedly, but it does offer SPF15 in the formula. It also has a medium coverage, that offers a brightening effect to the skin. The range, as a whole, is a firm favourite, particularly the full coverage concealer which helps to brighten and awaken the under-eye area. There’s no shimmer in the concealer, but it does have a gorgeous illuminating effect, which is down to the peptides and vitamin moisturising complex.
Rimmel Lasting Finish Nude Foundation
Built on the same idea as the Lasting Finish Foundation, it’s designed to last 25 hours, but in a more nude and lightweight formula.
The Lasting Finish Foundation is Rimmel’s highest coverage foundation, and it does stay put all day (we’ve yet to try it for 25 hours though), but Lasting Finish Nude feels lighter on the skin and looks just as good.
Lasting Finish Nude blends smoothly and evenly, it perfectly hides imperfections and creates a poreless complexion. We just don’t think it lasts as long as Lasting Finish.
This foundation differs thanks to the moisturising serum gel that helps to feel more weightless on the skin. It also contains SPF20 and vitamin E too.
Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation
If you have oily or greasy-looking skin this is the foundation you need. The feather-light liquid mousse blends beautifully, creating a natural-looking finish that helps to control shine.
This matte foundation still manages to create a natural-looking finish and the lightweight texture won’t feel heavy or greasy.
Best Rimmel Foundation
Each of the Rimmel Foundations offers something for different skin types, meaning you get what you need from your makeup without having to spend a lot as well. For a great all-rounder, we really love the newest offering from the beauty brand, Fresher Skin. It’s just a shame about the packaging when it comes to this foundation.
