This weekend sees yet another awards show take place, and this time we’re getting excited for the SAG Awards. But before the A-List spend hours in the beauty chair getting ready for the red carpet moment, we’ve taken a look back at some of favourite hairstyles that have come before them.
As much as it might be about the dress on the big night, hair, make-up and jewellery also play a huge part. There’s no reason why a beautiful dress can’t be ruined with the overkill of accessories, or manage to lack in something because they haven’t got the right pieces.
We love getting hairstyle inspiration from the red carpet and hopefully these pictures will provide you with some too.

We love Natalie's beachy waves paired with the soft tones of her gorgeous gown.
Rosamund Pike

Tousled, blonde bobs have become a celebrity hairstyle staple of late, and Rosamund Pike was leading the way with hers at the 2015 SAG Awards.
Felicity Jones

The contrast between Felicity Jones' sleek and simple updo and her structured gown was to die for. Plus the simple looped hair design is something we can all easily try, dress it up like Felicity with a stunning pair of drop earrings - although we doubt we'll be wearing jewels as expensive as hers.
Reese Witherspoon

The good old faithful ponytail doesn't have to be a snooze-fest, especially when it's paired with a one-shouldered dress. The deep side parting keeps it interesting and the full bodied pony means it's not drab at all.
Keira Knightley

Keira nails the disheveled hair style perfectly, by clipping half back it adds some structure to the style too.
Rashida Jones

Thanks to Rashida Jones' glossy hair we've got fringe envy. A simple low ponytail has been elevated by a sleek and sophisticated fringe - where are the hair scissors at?!
Claire Danes

Big, bouncy locks - Claire Danes we've been trying to recreate these at home for a while now but just can't seem to get it right. Maybe something like the Mark Hill Airstyler will help?
Emma Stone

Sleek and sophisticated, this hairstyle was perfect with her masculine mash-up look.
Laverne Cox

We love Laverne's headband braid, just look at that height. Plaits and braids have long been a go-to look on the red carpet and we love how they can even add a touch of style to the most boring of hairstyles.
Natalie Dormer
We love how the Game of Thrones actress completely embraced the undercut hairstyle she had done for her role in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, and Natalie looked gorgeous on the SAG Awards red carpet in 2014. Her cream dress with black caged detail worked perfectly with her tough hairstyle, and the glossy curls added a soft touch to the look.
Sofia Vergara
Old Hollywood waves at their best, Sofia looks gorgeous and the hair is perfect. We can’t gush about it enough.
Amy Adams
Amy Adams was also channelling Old Hollywood like Sofia in 2014, but she wore her hair up in an intricate style. Amy always manages to impress on the red carpet, especially during awards season, let’s hope this weekend is no different.
Jennifer Garner
There was just the right amount of volume in Jennifer Garner’s messy updo and for that she gets a big thumbs up.
Kerry Washington
We have to admit that Kerry’s fashion choice to 2014’s SAG Awards left us a little more than disappointed, but her hairstyle was cute and playful. The ballerina bun was sleek and the navy ribbon headband was a sweet touch. A simple, but effective look that’s easy to recreate.
Amanda Seyfried
Amanda Seyfried has that sultry stare down to perfection and we love the over-the-shoulder tousled locks she’s paired with it. Taking her just over the one shoulder makes the look a lot more seductive.
Alexis Bledel
Alexis’ tousled bob is nothing short of flawlessness, in fact, can we cut our hair just like hers?!
Rose Byrne
Another retro-inspired hairstyle, Rose Byrne is forever changing her looks on the red carpet and we applaud her deeply for that.
Kiernan Shipka
To compliment her fit and flare dress she wore in 2013, the Mad Men actress added a gorgeous sleek hairstyle with a bouncy end - this was a girly touch that ensured the young lady looked her age.
Kaley Cuoco
We have to admit that in recent years Kaley’s hair has proved a subject of much debate, we never got on board with the cropped pixie style - it's thankfully grown out now, but it was back in 2012 that her halo braids that created a beauty crush – they worked perfectly with her strapless gown.
Mila Kunis
Mila Kunis had a pretty flawless run during the awards season of 2011, and we loved the loose waves she paired with her vibrant Alexander McQueen printed dress.
Lea Michele
So. Much. Volume. And it was gorgeous, Lea knows how to work the red carpet with a sultry pose and the big hair was beautiful with her embellished Elie Saab number.
Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin stood out in 2010 wearing a much recognisable Alexander McQueen dress, and as much as we love it, we love her sleek half-up half-down ‘do too. It was the ideal balance for such a busy dress.
Diane Kruger
Diane Kruger has a pretty flawless red carpet record, and whilst you may think that she lacks in other departments because of this, you’d be extremely wrong, the actress always has the hair, the outfit and the accessories flawless and this updo was no different when she paired it with her mustard Jason Wu gown.
Amanda Bynes
Never in a million years did we think we’d go back to 2008 and find some hairstyle inspiration, especially from Amanda Bynes, but alas, we love these simple braids paired with loose curls. A gorgeous look for summer, this is something we’ll definitely be trying out ourselves.
