Trying to find foundation for pale skin can be a real minefield, thankfully brands like Nars and MAC have catered for the fair folk with shades like NC15 and Siberia – so what do we think of Nars Siberia? Here are our thoughts on the shade, the available foundations you can buy it in.

Nars Siberia

Nars Siberia is the lightest shade available in Nars foundations and it’s currently available to buy in the Sheer Glow Foundation, All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation, All Day Luminous Weightless Powder Foundation and Radiant Cream Compact Foundation.

The shade is very fair and is more yellow toned than pink, and certainly doesn’t offer a grey tinge to the skin. It’s one of the best foundation shades we’ve tried on pale skin.

Sheer Glow Foundation

A much-loved foundation that extremely rarely gets a bad review, and that’s because it’s easy to apply, creates a flawless finish that’s medium but buildable, gives skin a brightening effect and doesn’t dry out the skin.

Sheer Glow covers imperfections perfectly, leaving the skin looking natural, yet even and flawless. The texture is creamy and thick, but blends well and sets nicely. Skin is left looking dewy and glowing, but without an overly greasy look.

All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation

An extremely lightweight foundation that’s highly pigmented to give full coverage; the All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation is perfect for those who want high coverage from the foundation, but don’t want their skin to feel caked in makeup.

The foundation lasts really well, and sets into skin quite quickly – so you’ll have to move fast when applying this one.

Nars have put a whole lot of innovation into this foundation, with advanced flexible polymers that move with the skin to provide extraordinary breathability and comfort. The first-to-market treated pigments weightlessly deliver long-wearing, complete coverage without masking the skin for perfected natural-looking skin.

Nars have a firm favourite on their hands with this foundation, extraordinary coverage without the feeling of heaviness on the skin.

All Day Luminous Powder Foundation

Prefer a powder foundation to liquid? But still looking for high coverage? The All Day Luminous Powder Foundation from Nars evens the complexion with colour that lasts, but feels silky and ultrafine on the skin.

Use this powder foundation in three different ways to get your desired level of coverage. For sheer coverage apply the powder with a brush, medium coverage use a brush blending in a circular buffing motion and for maximum coverage dampen the sponge applicator then stipple onto the centre of the face by blending outwards.

Radiant Cream Compact Foundation

Even skin with a lightweight and luminous finish; combining the supple feel of a cream foundation with the sleek ease of a portable compact, this is the foundation you want in your handbag. Apply this either wet or dry, and get a product that blends seamlessly with a weightless medium buildable coverage.

Francois Nars’ tips for applying foundation

Foundation is key in a woman’s makeup routine, it is a must for achieving a flawless complexion. The biggest mistake women make when wearing foundation is wearing too much or the wronge shade – either too dark or too light. Finding the right shade and right foundation texture is crucial. The skin’s natural highlights should be shining through.

For the most natural finish, work two or three pumps in the palm of your hands before using fingertips to press it into the skin. The warmth of the hands and fingers helps to blend the foundation.
